Community Outreach & Engagement Intern

Position Summary

The selected intern works in direct support of the International Center’s Vice President of Development & External Affairs and the organizational team that is involved in general business activities, program deliveries, and organizational projects. The intern will be able to reach out to a variety of communities and attend amazing networking opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with planning networking and other events
  • Research on potential external stakeholders
  • Possible attendance at galas
  • Assistance with table master responsibilities
  • Assistance with volunteer management
  • Assistance with editing materials for public speaking engagements
  • Volunteer program and management

Desired Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding U. S. and International business and cultural diversities
  • Learning how to plan important events in the community
  • Learning how to edit documents for professional meetings and speaking events

Desired Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to engage external stakeholders
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Intimate familiarity with MS Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Additional software knowledge welcome: Notion, SignUp genius, Canva, graphic design skills
  • Experience in hospitality and event management fields; event planning is a plus
  • International travel/ living abroad experience preferred
  • Extensive volunteer work
