WHAT YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR WORK
It takes an extraordinary amount of courage to move around the world, set up a new home, and find your way in an unfamiliar place. And is never without challenges. Supporting people who have made this decision for themselves and their families is work I care about deeply. It’s often the smallest details, like finding a grocery store that carries familiar food or figuring out where to pick up a prescription, that can start to ease the stress during a time of transition. I love being part of a support network that makes those moments just a little bit easier and helps people know that they are going to be ok. Having been welcomed and received such generous hospitality in my own travels and time abroad, I know what a difference a kind welcome can make. Being part of that welcome in my home state now feels like paying it forward to the newest members of the Indianapolis community.
