World Trade Center Indianapolis and The International Center Sign MOU to Formalize Collaboration Between the Two Organizations
(INDIANAPOLIS – April 1, 2019) . . . A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between WTC Indy LLC (“WTC Indy”) and The International Center (“IC”; “The Center”) intended to promote better collaboration between the two entities.
The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony at The IC’s offices on March 6, presided over by Doris Anne Sadler, President and CEO of WTC Indy, and Martin Baier, President and CEO of The International Center.
In the past year, WTC Indy and The Center have collaborated on several project and collaboratively served the Indiana Economic Development Corporation through independent agreements.
With this MOU in place, the two organizations will seek to strengthen the collaboration and coordination between the two entities as they work to support Indiana’s global engagement, international trade, inbound and outbound foreign investment, and people-to-people relationships for WTC Indy, The Center, and the state of Indiana. The two will seek opportunities that will increase cultural exchanges, expand the global footprint of Indiana’s SMEs, build market awareness, and create jobs through international trade.
WTC Indy, as part of this MOU, expects to host trade presentations/seminars/conferences through partnerships and will invite potential trade partners from around the country and world to exchange information about additional potential trading partners. They will also monitor
changes and developments in federal trade policy and set up international trade missions with local officials, potential trade partners and other necessary figures for Indiana businesses through the WTCA network, with a focus on developing business-to-business relationships between Indiana SMEs with potential foreign partner and foreign direct investment opportunities.
The Center will use its vast network to publicize WTC Indy trade services and activities and encourage participation by partner companies in WTC trade services, educational seminars, and activities. They will also be available to consult for visiting and outbound international delegations serviced by WTC Indy on international protocol, etiquette, and intercultural communication.
The MOU term is for a period of one year and is automatically renewable.
