Overview
2019 GIA finalist Andrea Richter-Garry serves as Vice President of International Engagement for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC). Through her work, Richter-Garry is dedicated to attracting foreign direct investment into the state of Indiana. Her dedication to bringing Indiana to the forefront of the international stage is exactly what the Global Impression Award honors. She is very active within the community, serving as a board member for the State International Development Organizations, American China Society of Indiana, and Women4Change.
Career Highlights
As Vice President of International Engagement for IEDC, Richter-Garry oversees development and outreach strategy to forge and maintain relationships with foreign governments, international businesses and global stakeholders for the State of Indiana. She also creates economic development plans for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Secretary of Commerce.
Ritcher-Garry has more than seven years of government and international experience through her work at the White House and U.S. Department of State. She served as Advanced Lead to President Barack Obama and planned the logistical, security, and communications aspects of the President’s domestic and foreign travel. Through her time at the White House, she engaged with foreign governments, international organizations, military bodies and public sector groups to organize trips and programs.
Prior to her work at the White House, she served as the chief of staff of the Bureau of Energy Resources for the U.S. Department of State. In this role, Ritcher-Garry shaped foreign policy engagement in terms of energy and national security. During her time working for the U.S. Department of State, she developed expertise in economic and international summit development.
