ANGELA SMITH JONES JOINS THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS
(Indianapolis — October 1) – The International Center welcomes Angela Smith Jones, J.D. to its board of directors.
Smith Jones recently took on a new professional role as Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion at Marion County Health and Hospital Corp. She previously served the City of Indianapolis as Deputy Mayor for Economic Development from 2016 to 2020.
As deputy mayor, Smith Jones directed business attraction, retention and expansion, in addition to supporting job growth and development, specifically focusing on opportunities for talent with diverse backgrounds.
Earlier in her career, Angela served as General Counsel and Director of Policy and Legislation with the Indy Chamber. As a lobbyist, she advocated for immigration and non-discriminatory policies and global business advancement.
A native of Indiana, Smith Jones received her undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and her J.D. degree from Depaul University of Law in Chicago. She currently serves on several other boards in Indianapolis, supporting local business growth, education and employment.
