THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER TO HOST PANEL ON HOOSIER EFFORTS TO SUPPORT UKRAINE
(INDIANAPOLIS – April 11, 2022) – The International Center will hold a virtual panel to discuss statewide grassroots efforts to support Ukraine amid the ongoing crisis.
The panel, which will take place virtually on April 27 at noon, will feature panelists from three different organizations in Indiana to highlight their work to support Ukraine. The panel will be moderated by Lee Feinstein, former U.S. Ambassador to Poland and founding dean for the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University Bloomington. Feinstein is now president of McLarty Associates and is a board member of The International Center.
Panelists include:
- Anya Aslanova - a volunteer with Indiana Supports Ukraine, an organization created in response to the invasion of Ukraine earlier in 2022. Indiana Supports Ukraine has organized the multiple rallies in downtown Indianapolis at Monument Circle and collects items for the people of Ukraine. Aslanova is also president at Arts and Learning Indiana.
- Steve Boles – executive director of Mission to Ukraine, a Noblesville-based nonprofit serving Ukrainian mothers and children. Currently, they are raising emergency funds for their staff and communities in Zhytomir.
- Svitlana Ramer – president and founder of the Ukrainian Society of Indiana, a nonprofit recently created to celebrate Ukrainian culture, customs and traditions. Dr. Ramer is also the vice president of development and external affairs at The International Center.
