Indy Eleven & The International Center Introduce Groundbreaking Long-term Community Partnership
INDIANAPOLIS (March 15, 2023) – Indy Eleven is proud to introduce a groundbreaking long-term Community Partnership with The International Center in 2023, which marks The Center’s 50th anniversary as a catalyst to inform, convene, and connect public, private, and civic global objectives in Indiana.
This expansive new partnership will see The International Center assist with home search and settling services for new Indy Eleven players and assist the club’s players and staff in making introductions to local international communities throughout the Hoosier State. The Center will also provide orientation services and cultural training for Indy Eleven players and their families and give access to an array of additional benefits and services provided by The Center.
“Our new partnership with The International Center is a welcome step towards formalizing an even greater commitment to each other that will help our organizations and better serve the people of Indiana,” said Indy Eleven President & CEO Greg Stremlaw. “Much like The International Center serves as a global ambassador for the Hoosier State, we consider Indy Eleven to be the local ambassador for the world’s most popular sport, and we look forward to collaborating in new ways to strengthen our efforts together in 2023 and beyond.”
Indy Eleven staff will participate in The International Center’s Global Competency Workshops, which provide an understanding of intercultural relationships to help create a positive, multicultural work environment. Members of the club’s staff will also be invited to take part in the James T. Morris Global Leadership Series, a program centered around developing and progressing skills in leadership from a global perspective.
“A partnership between Indy Eleven and The Center just makes sense,” said Martin Baier, President and CEO of The International Center. “We are lucky to have an Indiana team participate in this sport beloved by so much of the world and The Center is honored to support and uplift Indy Eleven’s international team, management and fans.”
In addition, Indy Eleven will serve as the community partner of the International Center’s Festival Fund, a program that supports and promotes the activities of organizations in the greater Indianapolis area that enrich life by celebrating cultural diversity and expression and showcasing the growing number of nationalities represented in Central Indiana. The International Center will also take the lead in presenting opportunities surrounding Indy Eleven’s International Night match at IUPUI Carroll Stadium (date TBA).
Based in Indianapolis, The International Center serves as a guide to the world’s cultural landscape and a catalyst for the state’s international growth. Working in collaboration with businesses, organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and individual citizens, The Center expands Indiana’s global interest through a variety of programs and services and convening people with diverse interests around shared common international goals.
