THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER MOVES INTERNATIONAL CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARD EVENT TO SEPTEMBER 2021
(INDIANAPOLIS – February 1, 2021) – September 14, 2021 is the new date for The International Center’s International Citizen of the Year (ICY) award event originally scheduled for September 29, 2020 and later rescheduled for May 4, 2021 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.
Dan Coats, American statesman and diplomat, will be honored at the rescheduled ICY event. The International Citizen of the Year Award honors individuals whose work has achieved global impact and elevated Indiana on the world stage.
The September 14 event will also feature the announcement of the Global Impression Award (GIA) winner. The three finalists for that award were announced in December 2020.
“In light of the challenges of the past year, we and many others are looking forward with anticipation to the opportunity to host an event that honors Senator Coats and our newest GIA recipient,” said Julie Griffith, The International Center’s immediate past board chair and co-chair of the ICY event. “The International Citizen of the Year event is always an impressive celebration of the honoree and The International Center, and I feel confident that 2021’s event will be just as special and memorable.”
Joining Ms. Griffith as co-chair of the event is Bill Neale, and James T. Morris serves as Honorary Chair.
