It’s easy to think of Indiana as a state surrounded by the rest of the USA- Midwestern and homogeneous. But when we take a closer look at the men, women and children whose lives intertwine across these 92 counties, we discover we’re all a part of a very diverse community.
This is nothing new: since its beginning more than 200 years ago, people have been drawn here- to put down new roots in Indiana- from all four corners of the world.
In this new documentary from Judy O’Bannon, we get to know some of these people who have come to Indiana from distant, often very different places. We join them in their homes, at their work and at their places of worship. We see how their presence has caused life to change- for them, the newer arrivals, and for those of us who have been here a while longer.
And we come away with a deeper understanding of the ways our differences are actually helping to strengthen the ties that hold us all together.
