Dia de Muertos at Garfield Park

On November 2, 2021, the Garfield Park Art Center will host an evening of Mexican culture that includes traditional dance, music, food, ofrendas (altars), a memorial wall, crafts and a parade. Dia de Muertos is a day to remember loved ones. During the month of November, community members will be able to submit images of deceased loved ones on the virtual Facebook memorial wall.

Local Latino restaurants, performers, and artisans will create an authentic cultural event for participants. The entertainment will include Meztli Cultural (Mexican folclorico dancers and music group). Art activities will include face painting, lantern decorating, paper marigolds, and more.
