Join in for a new BWJO Ensemble* configuration led by lead trumpeter Scott Belck and featuring jazz trombone great Vaugh Wiester as they present Brazilian jazz classics from bossa nova, samba, and choro styles.
About Scott Belck: Belck is an accomplished trumpeter spanning jazz and classical worlds. He is an author, music and artistic director, teacher, and currently serves as Director of Jazz Studies and Professor of Music at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).
About Vaughn Wiester: Wiester is one of the great living jazz trombonists, an accomplished arranager, and seasoned jazz educator. He has played with and arranged for many of great jazz bands including the Woody Herman orchestra, the Dave Workman Blues Band, and the Terry Waldo Ragtime Orchestra among many others
Currently he leads his own 22 piece “Famous Jazz Orchestra” and an octet, “Brasileira,” featuring popular music from Brazil.
*BWJO Ensemble: smaller configurations of the Internationally Acclaimed and Award Winning 17 piece Buselli Wallarab Jazz Orchestra.
