Partners of the Americas is hosting the Orquestra Jovem do Rio Grande do Sul (OJRS)/Youth Orchestra of Rio Grande do Sul
for a 10 day tour in Indianapolis. OJRS is also a nonprofit, catering to children and teenagers with an underprivileged
background. These talented kids receive traditional orchestral music lessons as an after school activity. Indianapolis will receive
25 musicians, an artistic director/conductor, music teachers and the orchestra executive director, totaling 30 people. They will be
visiting with other young musicians from high schools, Universities, churches, and other independent groups. The goal is to
learn about what other orchestras are doing, interact with music students and teachers, attend workshops, observe rehearsals
and perform for different audiences.
