The International Center Receives Grant from The Indianapolis Foundation
INDIANAPOLIS – March 31, 2017 – The International Center has received a $30,000 grant from The Indianapolis Foundation, a community fund managed by the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), in support of The Center’s Festival Fund.
The Festival Fund was established in 2011 to support and promote the activities of organizations in Central Indiana that enrich cultural life by celebrating understanding and appreciation for different cultures. Community organizations that meet the requirements for a Festival Fund grant may apply for a $500-$2,000 award to support their cultural event. In 2016, the Festival Fund supported 19 cultural events in Central Indiana, including India Day, IUPUI International Festival and the Indiana State Museum Foundation’s Day of the Dead Festival, among others.
“We are grateful for The Indianapolis Foundation and its Board of Directors’ generosity,” said Martin Baier, president and CEO of The International Center. “Thanks to The Indianapolis Foundation’s benevolence, the Festival Fund will continue its mission of assisting deserving organizations recognizing and celebrating all of the rich cultures represented in Central Indiana.”
The Festival Fund is also supported by the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation.
