SVITLANA RAMER JOINS 2023-24 FELLOWS CLASS OF MITCH DANIELS LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION
(Indianapolis – April 4, 2023) – Svitlana Ramer, Ph.D., vice president of development and external affairs at The International Center, has been selected to join the 2023-24 fellows class of the Mitch Daniels Leadership Foundation (MDLF).
MDLF is a non-partisan organization inspired by former Indiana governor Mitch Daniels, 2010 recipient of The Center’s International Citizen of the Year award, to enable leaders and drive change in the Hoosier state. MDLF Fellows will participate in a year-long program designed to teach them about Indiana’s strengths and opportunities, followed by a second year focused on implementing new initiatives inspired by what they learned. The curriculum and events will center around core topics of the economy, education, health and civic engagement.
“Now being six years into the program with over 100 prior Fellows, we can see the impact being made personally, professionally, and statewide,” said MDLF Fellowship Committee Chair, Blair Milo. “This class is diverse in thought, region, industry, and background, and we are looking forward to the growth and development they’ll experience over the next two years.”
Svitlana joined The International Center in 2022 and is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and fundraising strategies that enhance and sustain The Center’s mission. A native of Ukraine, she is also the president and founder of the Ukrainian Society of Indiana, a nonprofit organization aimed at serving Ukrainian Hoosiers through cultural, educational and civic projects.
“I believe that each person has the ability (and the responsibility) to do everything in their power to impact the causes they care about,” Svitlana said in her MDLF fellowship application. “For if everyone did that, without waiting for larger institutions to intervene, the society would be headed in a much better direction.”
