The Board of Directors of The International Center have selected Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb as the recipient of the 2018 International Citizen of the Year Award, which honors those who have made outstanding contributions to the globalization of Indiana
“We applaud the work Governor Holcomb is doing to ensure Indiana remains competitive in the global market. The Governor continues to be fervent in his initiatives toward the ongoing globalization of Indiana and for that we are thankful and pleased to honor him as this year’s International Citizen of the Year,” said Martin Baier, president and CEO of The International Center and honorary French consul.
Holcomb is the 32nd recipient of the award, which began in 1985 and recognizes Hoosiers who have fostered a world view in Indiana through business, culture, education, government, medicine, research, media, sports and community service.
Governor Holcomb is a veteran of the United States Navy, served as the state’s 51st Lt. Governor and was a trusted advisor to both Governor Mitch Daniels and Senator Dan Coats. He is the 51st Governor of Indiana.
