International Citizen of the Year
Since 1985, The International Center has honored individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Indiana and the world in the fields of business, culture, education, government, medicine, media, research, sports or community service with the International Citizen of the Year award.

2022 HONOREE
Tamika Catchings, four-time Olympic gold medalist and philanthropist, will be honored with the 2022 International Citizen of the Year award on October 18, 2022.
Martin Baier, president and CEO of The International Center, said, “We are thrilled to celebrate Tamika, an Indiana icon, with our ICY award. With it, we will honor not just Tamika as an athlete, but her dedication to our community as a philanthropist and businesswoman and her role as unofficial ambassador for the entire state of Indiana.”

2021 HONOREE

The Center’s Board of Directors selected Dan Coats in February of 2020 to be honored with the award. Dan was honored with the award at the ICY event on September 14, 2021.
Dan, a public servant for over 26 years, was honored for his influence in international policy for Indiana and the United States throughout his career.
