Endowed with Dance

February 18, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

- Free

Ronen continues its partnership with UIndy in a program endowed with dance. Dancer Angela Agresti’s new choreography explores the human experience of spiritual development to the music of Frank Felice’s first violin sonata, ‘A Liturgy of the Hours’; Schumann’s ‘Frauenliebe und -Leben,’ sung by Mitzi Westra, offers a similar story through a woman’s point of view. The dance continues with the original thirteen-player version of Aaron Copland’s ‘Appalachian Spring,’ under the baton of returning UIndy favorite Vu Nguyen.

Works:

  • Schumann – “Frauenliebe und -Leben.”
  • Copland – Suite from “Appalachian Spring” in the original thirteen-player version
  • Felice – Violin Sonata No.1, “Liturgy of the Hours”
