Nelson Mandela International Day Celebration

IU has been selected to participate in President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Mandela Washington Fellows Program 25 civic leaders will be selected from across Sub-Saharan Africa to spend 6 weeks in Indiana.

In celebration of Nelson Mandela International Day, Big Car Collaborative will be hosting a storytelling event on July 18th from 6:30- 8 p.m. including an African catered dinner. During this storytelling event, 4 of the Mandela Washington Fellows and 5 Indianapolis locals will share stories of folklore, myth and tradition as it pertains to their heritage.
